My name is Colin Zapalac. I’ve spent much of my professional career exploring wireless communications technology. My grandparents helped to keep a country connected working for American Telegraph and Telephone (AT&T as we know it today) working switchboards and maintaining her “Long Lines” which kept us connected. When I was young my mother taught me how to use computers to build networks. At some point I inherited my late grandfather’s love for wireless technology which has lead me to work in many different sub-fields of the wireless communications industry. I’ve worked out in the badlands of New Mexico and barren landscape of West Texas designing, implementing and building microwave networks to transport SCADA information for the oil and gas industry, provided high speed internet to the rural homesteads as a Wireless ISP, kept mission critical communications running during some of our country’s greatest sporting events and and worst natural disasters in addition to making sure first responders never lose contact with their lifeline through their radios. Today, I help to provide Wi-Fi services to help us all stay connected. Through my career I’ve earned multiple certifications through internationally recognized organizations such as ETA International, Motorola Solutions, Mikrotik, Avigilon, Aviat Networks and others. I’m always working to learn new things and want to share my love for the technology with all and hope the content of this site brings value to you.
